Lois Winstone was born in London in 1982 to father Ray Winstone and mother Elaine Winstone. The first of three children, all girls. She grew up on an estate in North London, where she attended Enfield County School until the family moved to Roydon, Essex. After school, Lois studied art at Southgate college until personal problems caused her to leave before finishing the course. She started acting in school plays but it wasn't until 1997, when she had a walk-on part in her father Ray's film Nil by Mouth (1997), that an acting career seriously loomed. In 2001, she appeared as her father's daughter in Last Orders (2001), based on the book by Graham Swift and has more recently appeared in four 2002 episodes of "The Bill" as the 16-year old rebellious schoolgirl, "Chloe Kendrick".
