Lisa grew up in the Bloor West Village area of Toronto, where as a shy youngster she found many opportunities to express herself in theatrical productions. After studying theatre arts at York University, she launched her acting career with numerous appearances in TV shows, films and commercials, including Sirens (1993), The Assignment (1997), Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy (1996), and most notably, playing the younger version of the Geena Davis character in The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996).With this experience under her belt, Lisa decided to explore her own brand of storytelling, forming 'Mighty Brave Productions' to produce theatre and film with a collective of like-minded artists. She had immediate success with her award-winning performance in Last Tango In Transylvania (2000 NYC Fringe Festival), and short films Chasing Aces (2005), Boundless, and The Gospel of Phi (2007), all of which were recognized by the Canadian Comedy Awards.While continuing her film and theatre work, Lisa has also recently begun to explore the multimedia possibilities of online video and visual art. CBC Producer Howard Green said I was going to be bigger than Warner Brothers. When producer Morgan Drmaj said "I'm going to be bigger than Lisa Wegner", I knew we going to work together.
