Lianne Appelt was born in Olney, Maryland to parents Cynthia and Alan Kehr. Lianne stayed in Maryland throughout her childhood, and resides there today as an adult. In school, she was always interested in theater, drama, acting, and music; Lianne attended drama summer camps, took drama classes, was in drama club, and even joined the tech crew in high school. She was in Urbana High School's productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Night of January 16th; and Hood College productions of H.M.S. Pinafore, The Pages of Camelot, and served as audio/lighting tech crew member for Flowers for Algernon.In college, Lianne majored in Information Systems Management with a minor in Professional Writing (University of Maryland, Baltimore County). She has a Master's in Professional Writing (Towson University), and a Doctorate in Information & Interaction Design from the University of Baltimore. Despite her unrelated career in Information Technology, Risk Management, and Usability Research, Lianne began working as an actress on the side starting in 2012 when Netflix's House of Cards production came to her area in Harford County, Maryland. She worked background as a Cabinet Aide, Senator's Aide, rally participant, and other roles on House of Cards throughout its 6-season run. Additionally, Lianne worked background on HBO's Veep, starring Julia Louis Dreyfus for one of the seasons being filmed in Maryland.Lianne currently works as an actress in television shows (Investigation Discovery's Evil Twins & Evil Stepmothers), industrial films (CDC & Johns Hopkins), low-budget films, print/media, and commercials. She is active mostly in the Maryland/DC/Virginia/Pennsylvania area.
