Liam Regan was born in 1985 and raised in South Yorkshire, United Kingdom, he was exposed to the horror genre at five years old by secretly watching 'What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962)' without his parents consent.Growing up on a heavy dose of horror movies from the 80's, he quickly took an interest in independent cinema after discovering Troma Entertainment's back catalog and purchasing 'The Toxic Avenger Part II (1989) from his local Blockbuster video store. Liam studied screenwriting and filmmaking by working on the movie sets of Lloyd Kaufman (Return to Nuke 'Em High Volumes 1 & 2) and Damian Morter (Book of the Dead: Eschatrilogy), before embarking on his 'Banjo' project with his own production company titled Cincest Films.The initial idea of 'Banjo' was based on a sexual accident Liam encountered during a trip to London, the following day after a screening of Darren Lynn Bousman's 'Mother's Day' at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square, he was inspired to take the idea and create a treatment, that was quickly developed into a fifteen page short film screenplay titled 'Confessions of Peltzer'.Filmed during Easter 2012, the short film 'Confessions of Peltzer' premiered at the TromaDance film festival in New Jersey the following year.Once the short film premiered at TromaDance, Liam began receiving messages about how revolting and obscene the short was, which then inspired him further to begin writing a feature length screenplay, with the characters from his first short film, the screenplay was titled 'Banjo'.'Banjo' was filmed during the Summer of 2014 in South Yorkshire, UK. Using both British and international cast with genre names such as: Laurence R. Harvey (The Human Centipede 2 & 3), Dan Palmer (Stalled), Damian Morter (Book of the Dead: Eschatrilogy), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma Entertainment), Vito Trigo (Science Team) and Clay von Carlowitz (Return to Nuke'Em High). Amongst upcoming rising British stars James Hamer-Morton (Dead Love), Serena Chloe Gardner (She's Dead) and David Curtis (Carnival of Sorrows).The feature length movie had its first test screening at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2015 with a 107 minute work-print, and the final cut with the running time of 82 minutes has been officially selected by Film4 FrightFest to have its world premiere on August 31st in Leicester Square, London.Liam's next project is a rape revenge horror movie titled 'Parents Evening', which is described as 'I Spit on Your Grave' meets 'Mean Girls', and is to be produced in-house with his production company Cincest Films.
