An actress, singer-songwriter and filmmaker, Leah Khambata is a Parsi (a Zoroastrian Persian Indian community now less than 80,000 worldwide. Fun Fact: Freddie Mercury from Queen was actually Parsi!) who was born and raised in Bombay, but has lived/worked across NYC, LA, and London as well, acting in multiple languages and different accents. She used to quite enjoy confounding her peers as to where she's from by sometimes switching up her accent mid-sentence.As a child, she grew up around a family who had an immense love for the arts. She acted in several musicals and trained in Ballet and Modern Dance alongside her schooling. Some of her earliest memories are of singing "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain" at age 3 and re-enacting scenes from Titanic while singing "My Heart Will Go On."But she's grown a lot since her days as Eliza Doolittle and debating whether or not there was room on the door for both Leo and herself. She doesn't accept things blindly; she needs to know the why - what makes characters the way they are, what really is at play behind their eyes. Which is why Leah also majored in Psychology in addition to Film Studies at Wesleyan University. She later trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and UCB as well. She enjoys learning about the world around her on a molecular and philosophical level - how everyone is connected energetically, which is why she also trained in Reiki 2, and what's led her to become an emotional sponge of sorts. From the poised, astute woman who knows way more than she lets on - the expert whom the other experts turn to, to crack a case - to the fierce, passionate undercover operative who regrets not saying something than saying it, always fighting for what she believes in, Leah is a young Kate Winslet meets Amal Clooney meets Jennifer Lawrence. She's also the girl next door with an old soul who knows life is not a fairy tale but wishes it were anyways.A curious soul who has created her own work, Leah has acted in indies, worked behind and in front of the camera and on stage, performed her original songs at concert venues and has even gotten an MBA from Cornell. You'll also often find her doing jigsaw puzzles, crocheting scarves for her nieces or with her head in her books like Hermione Granger. As someone who constantly questions her life purpose, she's come to believe that it's to tell stories that encourage others to be their authentic selves and raise their vibrations in a world constantly afraid to look itself in the mirror. Much like the songs she writes, she likes to play roles that are self-reflective, and straight from the heart, that leave an audience with something to reflect upon.
