Ken Heang was born on September 3rd, 1980, as a refugee in Thailand after his parents fled Cambodia at the end of the Khmer Rouge regime from 1974-79. He came to the United States as a sponsored refugee in 1984 and became a naturalized US citizen. Ken grew up on American TV/Film and Chinese dubbed films. It was his childhood dream to work in Hollywood. When he was young, his dad taught him to be photogenic and always be ready for the camera. Ken dreamed of acting but didn't know how to pursue it. At age 8, Ken had a small part to play as one of the "wise men" for a kids' Christmas play at church. It was at this moment that the 'Acting Bug" bit him. Since then, he played in several plays and skits whenever a chance was given.In college, Ken played the lead role at the University of California at Irvine in 2004 in a Cambodian Culture Play as a romantic lead. The play was a huge success as over 500 attended. Ken has been working as a background actor for many major TV shows for over 10 years and is a member of SAG-AFTRA. He has always been committed on working on his craft and studied under many Acting Teachers and Vocal Coaches.
