Born in Opelika, Alabama and began on stage at age 4. Received a Presidential Commendation in Performance by age 11, leading to work on Shakespeare in Birmingham. First film role came in the Academy Award nominated Johnny Flynton (2002). After gaining further recognition, moved to Los Angeles and received a Best Male Performance award for work on Biloxi Blues as Eugene Morris Jerome (stage, 2009). Later received two Best Leading Male awards for work on the independent films, Secrets (2011), and Lawyer of the Americas (2013). Also worked with Tom Hanks on the Playtone/Universal picture Larry Crowne (2011). Holds degrees from the University of Southern California and California State Dominguez Hills in Theater and Film and studied with The Actor's Studio, The Lost Studio and Playhouse.
