Born on the exact same day and month 78 years after his grandfather, Joseph DiBona, a U.S. World War I Veteran and police officer whose surname spelling was changed to DeBona after completion of his military service.His father, Joseph DeBona, Sr. a U.S. Army Veteran, was a decorated expert marksman in his 32 year career as a police officer as well. Joseph, Sr., now retired, was a member of the 300 club for perfect target marksmanship, consecutive years he was awarded the prestigious PA Governor's 20 Club for only the best top 20 combined police scores and placed 1st in the Master division at the U.S. Secret Service combat matches in Washington D.C. Joe, Sr. received over 150 top 3 finishes in target marksmanship in the Mid-Atlantic region and at one point was considered as a candidate for the U.S. Olympic Trials. In a round he once scored just 10 points below the eventual Gold Medal Winner's score for the 1976 Olympic Games.Joseph, Jr. graduated from Lower Merion High School and went on to University of Pittsburgh where he was a member of the Pitt Men's Varsity Soccer Team and the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He graduated with a degree in Communications and Theater.Joe has used his family's real police background, knowledge and experiences to help him with his on camera roles.He is an avid golfer and scored his first "hole in one" on a 173yd, par 3 in 1995.He attended High School with Susan E.
