Jon Springer began his career as a commercial cinematographer & director in Minneapolis in the mid 90's. He learned the craft of movie cinematography by working for free on independent film projects in the Twin Cities area. After making several of his own short films, Springer wrote, produced and directed his first feature film The Hymens Parable (2000). In 2005, Springer convinced American Movie (1999) icon Mark Borchardt to appear in his short film Living Dead Girl (2003) which gained some critical acclaim and festival exposure. The director then went on the cast Borchardt in the low-budget horror feature The Hagstone Demon (2011) that received critical praise and festival awards. The Hagstone Demon played as a double feature with American Movie at the Boston Museum of Fine Art, and gained a minor cult following. Show less «
