Director John Stewart Muller has been making films his entire life. Most recently, John directed and co-wrote the stylish psychological thriller "Indiscretion", about a politician's wife whose brief affair with an alluring young sculptor leads to a dangerous obsession. "Indiscretion" stars Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino ("Mighty Aphrodite", "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion", "Mimic"), Cary Elwes ("The Princess Bride", "Saw"), Christopher Backus (FX's "Sons of Anarchy", Lifetime's "Deliverance Creek"), Katherine McNamara (ABC Family's "Shadowhunters", "New Year's Eve", and Melora Walters ("Magnolia", HBO's "Big Love")."Fling" (internationally titled "Lie to Me") was John's first commercial feature as writer, producer, and director. A surprisingly personal dramedy about a couple's doomed open relationship, "Fling" enjoyed a limited theatrical release and is available worldwide on Netflix, Hulu, VOD, DVD, and more. Its sexy, young ensemble cast featured Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns"), Nick Wechsler (ABC's "Revenge", The WB's "Roswell"), Ellen Hollman (Starz's "Spartacus"), and Courtney Ford (NBC's "Parenthood", HBO's "True Blood", Showtime's "Dexter"). It was shot on Super35mm film in John's hometown of Kansas City, Missouri and won awards at film festivals worldwide.John also wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the experimental feature "ISSUES" which chronicled his tortured relationship with two women, played by his real-life exes. A postmodern metanarrative, "ISSUES" explores the question: "What if love just isn't enough?" Mixing multiple film formats, absurdist alliterative dialogue, long uninterrupted takes, and offbeat humor, "ISSUES" is a uniquely intimate self-portrait.John directed and co-wrote episodes for BlackBoxTV, the premium YouTube channel of Anthony E. Zuiker, creator of the CSI franchise. He sold a comedy series, "Loving the Single Man", to Michael Eisner's new media company, Vuguru. His award-winning documentary series for Buick and the NCAA featured world-renowned athletes like Alan Page and Tamika Catchings and aired on sports networks nationwide.In addition to his creative film work, John runs GRANFALLOON, the award-winning Santa Monica production company, with his writing and producing partner, Laura Boersma. GRANFALLOON specializes in commercial production for clients such as Mattel, Coors Light, Fox Sports, A&E, MasterCard, Starz, Buick, GSN, AEG, Nickelodeon, HGTV, MovieTickets.com, and more.John is an active screenwriter and is currently in development on a number of feature films and episodic series.
