Joe Ross has been involved in the entertainment business for eighteen years. He has worked throughout the world as a Professional Wrestler, an Acrobat, Rigger, and Technical Director with Cirque Dreams, Walt Disney Company both in Anaheim and Orlando, and in many other Productions. He has gained many talents and abilities, due to his adverse and cultural contact with other athletes alike. Now, he has returned to L.A. after accomplishing his dream of touring the world with a circus and is now pursuing his dream of being a stunt man.Joe's quest began at a young age of eleven. He was a very active child, and spent most of his time outdoors. Along with his years spent BMX riding he had a knack for falling down. Falling, of course, came from learning how to crash safely. He then moved to more controlled rolls and purposeful falls jumping from objects of all sizes. This turned into more daring stunts like jumping roof gaps, dumpsters, fences, cars and other objects. At the age of eighteen he began his training in JKD, Jujitsu, bouncing trampoline and taking tumbling classes at his college. In 1993 he began to practice and perform as an Acrobat and a Professional Wrestler. As his character, Suicide Kid, developed he was performing in shows with top athletes of the time. Chris Benoit, Too Cold Scorpio, Blitzkrieg, Hell Blazer, Ultraman Junior, and Arcangel De Le Muerte, just to name a few. His mixed abilities between Lucha, American, and Japanese style Wrestling and acrobatics quickly toured him through the Los Angeles circuit and shortly after to PWC in Japan. After returning to the States Joe focused his abilities to the Circus field, which he was also performing in at the same time. His first Acrobatic show was with a company that had the same Cirque Du Soleil style flair. Joe worked two summers at Magic Mountain in Valencia performing phenomenal feats with his body and strength. One of his specialties was Chinese Poles, as well as Tumble Track, and Bungee Trapeze. Joe's abilities then started him traveling as an acrobat. In 1997 Joe auditioned for a hand-to-hand combat show that took him to San Antonio Texas. Joe was now using his martial arts skills to work for him. He was able to infuse his acrobatics with his martial arts and it became an elevation in his abilities. While in Austin, Joe was able to work with a Shakespeare actor named Kevin O'Malley who had taught him classes in Shakespeare Sonnets. After a brief stay back in the L.A. area, Joe then moved to Orlando Florida in 1999 to work in Tarzan Rocks at Disney's Animal Kingdom. There he honed his skills in roller blading. He was now riding ramps on roller blades with other professional ramp skaters. While in Florida, he began working with Cirque Dreams in 2000 and Brown and Millord Entertainment. Brown and Millord took Joe to Saudi Arabia for a high diving show where Joe performed 4 meter Spring Board Diving and Bungee Trapeze. Joe also worked with them briefly in Fairs throughout Southern California not only performing, but also setting up the rigging and pool tank.Between 2001 and present, Joe had moved back to L.A. and once again attempted to become a stunt man. Yet, his attachment and desire to tour the world had not yet been fulfilled. So, he packed up, and he moved back to Florida to work with Cirque Dreams. Being that Cirque's home office was in Pompano Beach Florida he needed to be near for training and developing acts and other skills. Joe developed a German Wheel Act and has worked extensively with many cultures and circus acts. While with Cirque Joe has toured China, the Philippines, many countries in South America, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada and all across the United States. He began as a performer and left as a touring Rigger and Technical Director for their Jungle Fantasy show. Joe has helped with the set up, installation, building of act props as well as show props. He has helped with the advancement and creativity in the show as well as personal acts.Joe now resides in the Los Angeles area where he feels back at home. Joe is back with his years of developing skills and training to be a stuntman, which is something that has been in his heart from the beginning and is now his vision and passion.
