Joanne L. Harris grew up in a small Florida town, surrounded by books. She began writing original works when she was 12, and was first published in the 8th grade.She spent a number of years learning the construction trade, then returned to college to study journalism, public relations and advertising. She also attended modeling school in Palm Beach, Florida. She began working for several companies and later started her own PR firm, Harris PR & Marketing LLC.She began writing scripts, and booked her first film role in 2006. Soon after, she enrolled at several acting studios and studied screenwriting at local colleges. She went to Los Angeles in 2007 to study screenwriting at the prestigious Act One program.In 2008, she began producing and writing her first documentary short film in Germany. She also directed and edited the award-winning film, "A Mass of Wine," which sold in four continents.She later returned to LA to study low-budget film production at UCLA Extension, and enrolled in another low-budget production course at the Burt Reynolds Institute of Film and Television, where she furthered her acting studies.Harris began writing award-winning scripts for video production clients, and was soon writing and producing corporate videos for her own clients. She has produced, directed, post supervised and scripted numerous corporate videos and commercials.Today, she wears several hats in the film and commercial industries. She is a respected and highly-referred locations manager and scout for film and commercial work in South Florida, has served as Post Production Supervisor for the feature film, "The Legend of Kate Kensington," and has managed extras casting for feature and short films.Her acting credits include "DeFeated," "The Legend of Kate Kensington," "Ballers," "All That You Can't Leave Behind," and "Slaphappia."She speaks German and some Spanish.
