Jeremy Sheldon was born and raised in London, England. The son of Richard Sheldon, an architect, and Cissy Chu, a Chinese nurse who immigrated to the UK in the late 1960s, he attended a number of schools, including Cheam School and Eton College, before studying Literature and Philosophy at the University of East Anglia (UEA).Jeremy returned to UEA in 1995 to study for his MA before writing two works of fiction ("The Comfort Zone" and "The Smiling Affair") that were subsequently published by Jonathan Cape. In the meantime, he worked as a DJ at various venues in central and south London to support himself before beginning a career in feature film development in the late 1990s.Jeremy then worked for companies such as Miramax, Working Title and Icon Entertainment as a script-reader for several years, reading hundreds of scripts and novels for potential development and production, before moving on to work as a script-editor and, eventually, as a writer.
