Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Wallace is one of Southern California's most versatile vocal artists, having performed as a soloist in a variety of styles; from major oratorios to musical theatre and from grand opera to children's theatre. Jennifer was featured as a stereotypical opera singer on the NBC television series Chuck in an episode titled "Chuck vs. the Fat Lady". She also appeared as a "stranger" during the première week of Penn Jillette's NBC game show Identity and delighted the audience with an excerpt from Tchaikovsky's Jeanne d'Arc when she was revealed to be the Opera Singer. Jennifer has performed as a vocalist on numerous motion picture soundtracks, on the title track of Busta Rhyme's 2009 release, Back on my BS and as a backup singer on Josh Groban's 2010 release, London Hymn.Early in 2010 Jennifer brought "gravitas, nuance and point to her role" of Eleanor Roosevelt in the world premiere of The First Lady, a chamber opera by Dr. Kenneth Wells. Highlights of 2009 included an appearance as a Reporter in the world premiere of Stephen Schwartz's Seance on a Wet Afternoon with Opera Santa Barbara and performing as the Mezzo-Soprano soloist for the Long Beach Symphony's 75th Anniversary Gala performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. In addition, Jennifer has sung extensively with the Los Angeles Opera since its inception in 1986 (appearing in over 90 different productions) and has had the privilege of performing several solo Pops concerts with "King of the Keyboards" Bob Ralston (of The Lawrence Welk Show) featuring all of the aforementioned genres. In recent years, Jennifer has broken new ground in her quest for opportunities to showcase her unique performing gifts -- by tackling roles traditionally sung by men! As a featured performer with Orange County Opera, Jennifer uses her comedic skills as "Dawn" Basilio (a take-off on "Don Basilio" in The Barber of Seville) as well as the roles of Professor Spalanzani (Tales of Hoffman) and Dr. Dulcamara (The Elixir of Love).A long time private voice student of David Romano, Jennifer attended CalArts and the Music Academy of the West, was the winner of the 1994 Opera Guild Competition and apprenticed in the Tulsa Opera Young Artists Program in 1992.
