Having been an assistant in film since the age of 16, Jeff had the chance to mingle in a wide variety of circles internationally and frequent directors such as Sergio Leone and David Lean.Jeff's first job in film was to be the personal assistant in Europe of the famous director John Frankenheimer who trusted Jeff and paid him his first wages. Very quickly, he got to work with both Americans and Europeans which explains today his close relationships with key players in different countries.He can often be spotted today in Washington, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and Rome, smoking his cigar and rubbing shoulders with famous politicians and bankers. Being apolitical himself, allows him the freedom to be total liberal in his vision of the world.In 1993, his short film, 'Meeting At Sea' was chosen at the International Festival of short films in Clermont Ferrand, where the film did not win a prize but the public was extremely enthusiastic and Jeff got to experience the fans and the press in the film world.On a shoestring budget and being very resourceful, he gained the support of many people and made a long film 'In The Sky' which was chosen in the official competition at the prestigious Paris festival in 2003. The 90 minute film was in english and received a 20 minute standing ovation. As is often the case of a filmakers first long film, the film never distributed and was shown at film festivals only.Jeff Espanol started his 2nd film project in 2007 in the USA. One of the leading american actors passed away which suspended the filming. After several years of working in lobbying, Jeff was able to return to his passion in 2014/2015 and finish the film 'The American Connection'. The images filmed in 2007 became flash backs and today 'The American Connection' is finished in its entirety. Show less «
