Jaz Martin was born in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England. His ancestry includes Irish, English and Italian. Martin credits a chance viewing of the Yorkshire play 'Bouncers', by John Godber, as the spark that lit his desire for pursuing a career in acting.Martin obtained a BA (Hons) in Drama at the University of Sunderland. His big break came in 2009 when he landed the lead role in a production of 'The Secret Life of John Cooper Clarke', heralded by The York Press as a "Very impressive portrayal of the punk rock poet". It was after the final curtain call of this show that Martin decided to relocate and continue his training of the arts in Los Angeles California. It was here where he began to learn his craft in the class rooms and audition rooms of Hollywood.After acquiring an agent and a green card, 2011 marked Martin's first pilot season in the City of Angels. It was the stuff of dreams as he booked a guest Star role, in the CBS pilot 'Home Game'. Produced by Mark Wahlberg and starring Rob Riggle and Ken Marino.Since this time Martin has flexed his acting muscles in many productions on and off our screens. Highlights of his career thus far include the role of 'Sam' in the horror movie 'I Will Follow You Into The Dark' starring Mischa Barton and Ryan Eggold. He has also had a recurring role in the English hit ITV show Emmerdale, as hitman 'Brad'.Most recently Martin has worked on BAFTA award winning BBC series 'Last Tango In Halifax' as 'Ollie'. Current projects in post-production are the new Sky One show 'After Hours' directed by the talented Craig Cash (The Royale Family) in which he plays 'Russell', band mate and love interest to Jamie Winstone (Kidulthood).Jaz Martin currently resides in the UK.
