Whether series regular or indie lead, best friend or psychopath, his work is always enduring and dynamic.Paulson has been lauded for his turn as Adam Whitman on AMC's Madmen and is fondly remembered as the lovable recluse Physical Phil on ABC's October Road. He's recently been seen trading barbs with George Lopez, and donning the continental blue for a historic portrayal on AMC's TURN.His film appearances include solid supporting roles in studio pictures like GO, Can't Hardly Wait, and The Marc Pease Experience; as well as standout leading roles in recent independent features such as: Rust Creek, Black Rock, and Lucky Bastard.Jay Paulson's start in entertainment came in 9th grade at Harvard-Westlake. He was cast as the lead of the school play, caught the bug, and performed in every subsequent production. At 16, a talent manager spotted him, and in no time he was working constantly. He was accepted to the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, and managed to pursue his acting career and earn a degree. A lifetime member of The Actors Studio, he trained there with Martin Landau and Allan Miller.Born in New York City, Paulson lived in Brooklyn until his father moved the family west. He currently resides in Venice Beach with his wife, two sons, and their dog Rupa. An avid reader, he is a nationally ranked competitive scrabble player, writes poetry and enjoys distance running.
