Jason Jack "The Jay" Edwards is an American actor and print model. He has gained success in commercials, movies and many national campaigns for America's top companies including ads for Budweiser, Sony, Head and Shoulders, Wendy's and McDonalds.Edwards was born in Chicago Illinois, the son of Jack and Beatrice Edwards, whom have been married for over 30 years. His mother is a retired high school home economics teacher and his father is a Vietnam veteran and a retired car hauler. They currently own a small trucking company in Illinois. Edwards grew up on the Southside of Chicago until the age of 6, then moved to Detroit. The family moved back to Illinois when Edwards was 12 to the south suburban community where his parents now reside.Edwards's father served a tour in Vietnam in the 4th infantry as a M60 Gunner for his platoon, where he received a combat infantry badge. It was special to Edwards that his dad would only confide details of his experiences in the Highland Jungle to him. These story's fueled Edwards dreams of becoming an actor. He wanted to act in films like Lethal Weapon, Die Hard and Robocop allowing him to experience being a hero in a way similar to his Dad.Edwards professional acting career began in Chicago with WTTW's "The Happiness Club." Impressively playing a music producer making beats, he was asked to play DJ JJ Fresh. From there, he decided to get an agent in Chicago and booked his first SAG job at the age of 18.Edwards finished Howard University with a B.F.A degree in Theater. During his college career, he performed in "Lola's Letter" at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The play received 2nd prize for drama in the Larry Neal Writer's Competition Awards.His past projects include the cult classic "Black Dynamite", starring Michael Jai White, Arsenio Hall and Tommy Davidson and "The Sessions", where he had the pleasure of working with Helen Hunt, John Hawkes and director Ben Lewin.
