Jake O'Flaherty was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico because his F.B.I. father, Jack O'Flaherty was stationed there working for the U.S. Government. He later went to Incarnation grade school and Jesuit High school in Tampa,Florida. Jake then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to go to college at Xavier University, where he received a bachelors degree in Psychology & a Minor in Business. After college, Jake packed his bags, sold everything he owned, and drove his Honda accord to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. After a couple of years studying with acting coach John Kirby and waiting tables at Jerry's Famous Deli on Beverly Blvd. in Hollywood, Jake met William Morris VP Betty Fanning McCann while serving her a cup of vegetable soup. She asked him if he was an actor, asked if he had an agent, and then handed him her business card. That was his big break! The next week he was signed with a successful agency, going out on national commercial auditions and started booking pretty much right away.Jake has booked over 200 national commercials, voice overs and TV shows. Recently, Jake has also been teaching commercial classes, coaching actors of all levels of experience and producing original shows like "Hollywood Shorts"(10 minute original short plays by Emmy award winning TV writers) at The Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks.
