Jacob Burns grew up in small town USA. Where everyday brought the same things. The usual go to school, come home, and await the factory working parents for a fantastic home cooked meal. Growing up people would ask him "What do you want to do with your life?" Jacob was always unsure on how he would answer that. The responses varied, everywhere from "Maybe I'll join the military." to "I'm not to sure yet." But then something did spark his interest. Movies. They became heavily prevalent his life about the time he was exiting elementary school to the time he was entering middle school. He began to receive or buy movies and watch them multiple times over. Then with the opening of his grandparents video/ game store, movies became the center of his life. Jacob began to imagine scenarios in cinematic styles, create stories in his head, and before he knew it he knew what he wanted to do with his life. He wanted to be involved in the production of movies. Writing, directing, acting, all of it. Over the next several years his movie collection grew. So much so in fact, that his family began to run out of space for all the movies they had collected. Then, one day, as if straight out of a movie, his opportunity came to be a part of something fantastic. Jacob had the chance to be in a locally produced feature film. Two Steps from Hope (2017) was his chance to put himself out there. He as well as many other local students and adults joined onto the team and they got to work. Over the course of the production Jacob had the opportunity to be an extra, an assistant and second assistant director, boom operator, and documentary photographer. And soon after the movie had released, it was a hit in the community, sparking an even bigger love for movies in Jacob. Jacob currently still resides in his home town where he writes and documents his ideas hoping for the opportunity for one of his ideas to make it big one day. He has plans to be filming soon again, and further his education in the film and photography world.
