Jack Hartnett, a decorated combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps, has worked across the board in the entertainment industry as an actor, writer, director and producer. You've seen him from supporting to the lead in "Hitch", "Sex and the City", "Stranded", "Regresa", "Shortcut to Happiness" opposite acclaimed actors such as Anthony Hopkins, Eva Mendes, Will Smith, Blanca Soto, Jaime Camil, Erica Durance, Alec Baldwin and Kim Cattrall.Jack was an All-American football player at Hofstra University in New York before serving his country in the Marines with tours of combat in the Gulf War and Somalia. Upon his return to New York he embarked on pursuing his passion for acting. While studying with top private coaches from The Actors Studio he also achieved an Associates in Theater Arts from the NY Academy of the Dramatic Arts. Success came quickly as Jack landed roles on every New York soap opera, numerous national commercials and an extensive modeling career that encompassed over 700 novel covers and major retail and consumer clients.Jack made his writing and directorial debut with the short film "La Vida Blanca". The bi-lingual short, which he also produced, launched the international acting career of Miss Mexico Blanca Soto, his then wife, and garnered the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival's Best Short Film and Best Actress awards.Jack continued to hone his new found success as a director by personally directing Blanca Soto with Chris Pratt and Scott Caan in "Deep in the Valley", then onto multiple projects in the United States and abroad garnering various acting awards for Soto.Firmly embedded in the Latin community Jack worked alongside multiple directors to help achieve continued great successes for not only Soto but also for "Divina Confusion" and "Regresa", two feature films, as well as for the highest viewed telenovela in US history "Eva Luna".Jack returned to the US general market utilizing all his creative skills on both sides of the camera with two short films, "Sovereign" and "Bottle in the Smoke".The first, "Sovereign", a passion project for the former infantry officer, in which he fulfilled his vow to hire fellow military veterans who have transitioned into the entertainment industry. Joining him on both sides of the camera 33 veterans brought to life a story about veterans made by veterans.He then returned back to his native New York and directed, co-wrote and co-produced "Bottle in the Smoke" co-starring with five-time Emmy Award winning actress Martha Byrne.Maintaining the philosophy, taking care of those that take care of us, Jack is a proponent of advocacy for veterans and their families. He has continued to not only provide employment opportunities and career guidance for veterans but has on multiple occasions accompanied other entertainers and musicians to visit wounded warriors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and local VA Hospitals.
