Monfils is a multi-disciplinary filmmaker, with a 30-year career of international exposure working on commercials, documentaries and features. He began his career in Mexico, serving coffee at an international advertising agency at the age of 17. Through the years his love for travel led him to shoots in over 20 countries and 5 continents, working with a wide diversity of cultures and people on more than 300 cinema/television commercials combined as producer and or director. Shooting for global brands.He has made films with a run time ranging from 5 seconds to 100 Minutes. Through the years acquiring a wide range of skills working on nearly every role required in the industry, on and off set. Receiving international recognition and a wallpaper of awards for his advertising works.Then in 2006, he directed a feature documentary, titled 'Laya Project', a visual musical journey through the 2004 Asian tsunami-affected countries. The film was recognized as official selection in more than 20 film festivals around the globe, winning 4 of them.In June 2010, Monfils began work on an independent feature documentary under Monfils Pictures, as producer, director. The film 'A Good Day to Die, Hoka Hey' documents the life story and extraordinary adventures of British conflict photographer Jason P. Howe. It provides an insight on how passion led to a downward spiral of disillusionment in this crazy tale of survival and change.The feature documentary, running at 87 minutes and finished in March 2016, was selected to showcase in Cannes-France at Marche du Film in May 2016, then was screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF) United Nations Event on the 7th June 2016. The World Premiere was held at Biografilm Festival in Italy, on the 14th of June 2016.Besides busy in the advertising industry, Monfils is developing his next film project - a dark film-noir murder mystery thriller - based on a novel by first-time author Harlan Wolff titled Bangkok Rules. Set in Asia's Gotham City (Bangkok), it's the story of an expatriate private detective living in Thailand who happens upon the case of a lifetime.
