The visually and profoundly evocative worlds in Hann-Shi Lem's films are inspired by his travels and his interaction with diverse cultures throughout his nomadic life. His forte lies in capturing space, time and drama with emotion, beauty and intrigue. As a youth growing up in Singapore, Lem's desire to bridge science and art gravitated him towards the study of architecture at The Cooper Union in New York. During university, his pursuit of the ultimate medium for artistic expression led him to discover that films, more so than buildings, are the confluence of multiple creative and technical disciplines.Following an entrepreneurial stint in trading and fashion, Lem returned to study filmmaking in London and Los Angeles before making Prescient, a Singapore-US co-production. Since then, he has continued to develop projects from the US, UK and Singapore.
