He is the oldest of 4 siblings on his fathers (Gurie Sheffield Sr.) side and an only child on his mother (Gwen Franklin) side.Gurie was raised in Oak Cliff while attending the famous David W. Carter High School. Which is famous for the movies "Friday Night Lights" and "Carter High". Gurie began doing music in high school with friends as a hobby along with playing football. Having history of being in school plays, acting was always a desire but very expensive. His solo music career launched as he premiered in major music festivals(SXSW), appeared on MTV, along with his single airing on major radio stations globally. After getting recruited to model early 2016, Gurie began to receive casting calls for a television series airing as an extra. He has made appearances in at least 3 episodes landing multiple role opportunities in USA Networks "Queen of The South"(2016) and Meaghan Oppenheimer's "Broken"(2016) airing on ABC. His first lead role was portraying Jeremy in Dinzo Productions student film "Deja Vu"(2016). That led to a leading role in the new series/feature film "Nomads"(2016) as Adam, the ruthless gang leader. He now holds the lead role as Von in "Damn Near 30", a new drama and suspense independent series soon to be debuting.
