Born in New York on March 5, 1956 in the Fordham section of the Bronx , Gerard had his first taste of acting at the age of six when he played the King in his school play "The King in his Kitchen".after performing in school productions Gerard began doing stand up at the age of 17 on Monday open mike nights at the legendary Catch A Rising Star comedy club on Manhattan's upper Eastside where he shared the stage with Freddie Prinze, Robin Williams, Pat Banetar and Richard Belzer. After high school , Gerard waited tables so he could afford to take acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. He has written,produced, and performed in several comedy theater productions between 1992 and 2003. After a hiatus to raise a family Gerard has returned to stand up performing at the world famous Comic Strip Live and honing his acting chops at The Stella Adler Acting Studio.
