Canadian-Filipino Genny Sermonia was born Genevieve Grace Sermonia in Scarborough and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, to Maria Lita & Gene Sermonia. Genny started dancing at the age of 4 along side her two older brothers, Julius and Jason. They trained and competed all over North America winning awards, scholarships, and dance titles. Together they began to audition for many projects, companies, live shows, and also performed in community theatre. She admired the success of her brothers, however, she decided to follow her own path and enrolled in Sheridan College's prestigious Music Theatre Performance program in September 2005. It was there where Genny immersed herself in her craft and became disciplined in all types of performance genres, focusing on acting, singing, and dancing.Upon graduation, Genny made Toronto her home base, however, quickly uprooted her life to Stratford, Ontario where she performed her first season at The Stratford Shakespeare Festival. From there Genny has had the privilege to grace many stages all over North America, performing in select shows such as the Broadway National Tour of "Mary Poppins", "Sweet Charity", "South Pacific", " Elf", "West Side Story", "Cyrano De Bergerac", "The Wedding Singer", and "Miss Saigon". But it wasn't until Genny had a dry-spell for theatre employment where she decided to audition for a new CW TV series called "Hellcats" and became a series regular. It was then that she grew her love to be in front of the camera. Since then she has been making appearances on Degrassi, as well as Odd Squad, Beauty and the Beast, The L.A. Complex, Warehouse 13, Really Me, Mirror Mirror, Hotel Noir, and Forensic Factor. Most recently Genny played Cashmere in the feature film Full Out starring Ana Golja and Jennifer Beals.
