Genevieve Joy is an American actress and comedian.Genevieve grew up in CT and graduated from Hamilton College after which she began her acting and comedy-career in New York. She has performed stand-up at clubs and venues all over the country, has been honored in numerous festivals and has been featured twice on WE TV's Cinematherapy with comedian Chuck Nice.In addition to stand-up, Genevieve has performed sketch comedy at the Bleecker Street and Tank theaters in NYC and is a founding member of the acclaimed improvisation troupe 'The Improv Addiction.' In 2012 Genevieve played five original characters in her one-woman show 'My HBO Special' directed by Samantha Jones and then relocated to Los Angeles to play Libby Tucker opposite Robert Wuhl in The Falcon Theater's production of Neil Simon's "I Ought to be in Pictures" where she was listed in Broadway World Magazine as one of the best leading ladies in LA theater. Since making the move, Genevieve has continued performing stand-up in and around the Los Angeles area and has starred in numerous LA theater productions including playing Greta Garbo in "Holly Would," an original farce comedy about Hollywood in the 30's directed by Octavio Carlin at the Hudson Theatre; as well as Sarah Bernhardt in "Wild Songs and Naked Souls" and The Wealthy Lady in Joyce Carol Oates' "I Stand Before You Naked" both directed by Gloria Gifford. She also acts and performs original stand-up in Garry Marshall's film "Mother's Day" starring Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston.
