Gary Schmoeller joined Filmwerks at its founding in 1993, as a Producer on a three-picture deal between Trimark Pictures and Filmwerks. He began his film career as a Production Manager for four feature films and then moved to producing. He has produced 20 films as a true "indie producer" with budgets of "micro" size of $750,000 to $6.5 million. He has overseen such cult genre classic sequels as "Bride of Re-Animator" and "Return of the Living Dead 3". From Texas, Schmoeller has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. With the executive business background he possesses, he oversees Filmwerks' financial and business affairs. He maintains working relationships with the guaranty bond companies, the lending institutions and the legal and accounting firms that are necessary to run the day-to-day operations of Filmwerks, including directly servicing the many contracts with the film distribution companies worldwide. He is the President and Chief Operations Officer for Filmwerks.Raised in West Texas, Gary Schmoeller received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas. Attending UT on an athletic scholarship for Tennis he was a touring professional until his early thirties when he began a business career in the transportation industry. After a few years as a vice president and general manager he moved to Los Angeles to seek a career in feature films.Schmoeller is a veteran line producer with 30 films to his credit. He began his career as a production manager working with director Brian Yuzna on "Society" and "Bride of Re-Animator". He managed four films before he began working with the films from inception as a line producer and a co-producer.He has worked as a true "indie producer" with budgets from $750,000 to $6.5 million. He has worked both as a free lance producer and as a principal in a film production company.
