Gabriel Carrer (born May 21, 1981) is a Canadian film director, producer and writer. At the age of three he was enrolled into the Suzuki School of Music and for over ten years Carrer performed in music, eventfully opening up for international acclaimed Violinist Yehudi Menuhin. After graduating, he studied Theatre at the University of Guelph and became a scenic set painter before exploring the medium of film.During his studies in theatre, he directed his first ultra low budget horror film Desperate Souls (2003), which was released by Lions Gate and Alliance Atlantis. He later directed Troma Entertainment's Kill (2005), the 70's genre throwback If A Tree Falls (2010) which premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal and In the House of Flies (2012) starring Henry Rollins.In 2014, he went onto direct the award winning action thriller The Demolisher (2015), which won the silver audience award for best feature at the Fantasia International Film Festival. The film also played at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival and won best director and male performance at the Fantastic Planet Film Festival in Australia.Carrer has also directed over 100 music videos across Canada and the U.S. Show less «
