Fedor Bondarchuk is famous Russian director, film and TV producer, actor, clip maker and TV host. He was born on May 9, 1967 in Moscow, Russia, and was brought up in the family of actress Irina Skobtseva and internationally acclaimed film actor and the Academy Award-winning director Sergey Bondarchuk. He was no stranger to the world of cinema since his early childhood. In 1985 after school graduation Fedor became a student of Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). In 1991 he graduated from Yuriy Ozerov's class as film director. His actor debut was in 1986 in the movie Boris Godunov where he was acting with his father. Fedor is the founder of Art Pictures Group company, which he founded in 1991 together with his friend Stepan Mikhalkov, and reorganized it in Art Pictures Studio in 2006 with his partner Dmitriy Rudovskiy. The company specializes in film and video production and distribution. In 2001 Fedor received his first movie award Sozvezdie as the best actor, for the movie Kino pro Kino (Film about cinema). In 2012 Bondarchuk received Golden eagle award in nomination The Best Actor for his role in the movie Dva dnya (2011) (Two days) by Dunya Smirnova. Bondarchuk is a winner of TEFI award in 2003 (Tefi is the Russian equivalent of Emmy award) in nomination "The best host of the entertainment TV-show". As film producer Fedor Bondarchuk started his career in 2002 with the movie V dvizhenii (2002) (In action). Since that time he has produced over a dozen of films that had success and the biggest box office in Russian film industry. Bondarchuk director's debut was 9th Company (2005) which became the most profitable Russian movie of 2005, the film won 7 movie awards. 9th company became the first Russian movie which earned $ 25 million and the film symbolized the renaissance of Russian film industry. Fedor's next project was dilogy Inhabited Island (2009) based on fantastic novel Inhabited Island by brothers Strugatskiy. With the filming period of 222 days dilogy became the most discussed premieres of the 2009 year. Production and distribution of Inhabited Island were realized by Fedor Bondarchuk's film company Art Pictures Studio. Movie earned $30 million and took the third place of the box office of CIS area in 2009. In 2013 Art Pictures Studio released war drama Stalingrad directed by Fedor Bondarchuk. Stalingrad became Russia's first movie filmed in IMAX 3D format. Stalingrad received 6 nominations and 4 Golden Eagle awards, as well as 7 nominations and 3 Nika awards. Stalingrad became the Russian film with the biggest box office in history. In 2014 Bondarchuk produced Yes&Yes by Valeriya Gay Germanika, which received award for best director at 36th MIFF. In winter 2015 were released 2 films produced by Fedor Bondarchuk - war drama Battalion and sequel of famous drama Dukhless 2 (Soulless 2), both of films were recognised by Russian audience and received huge box office.
