Ethan Wiley attended UCLA Theater & Film school to study play writing and directing, then began his career as a special effects artist working for Industrial Light & Magic and effects guru Chris Walas, on such classic films as Return of the Jedi, Gremlins, and Romancing the Stone. He wrote the hit horror-comedy House, and wrote and directed House 2: The Second Story. Both films are now considered cult classics. Wiley was also writer-director for Children of the Corn 5: Fields of Terror (Miramax). He has written for, or sold projects to Warner Bros., Fox, Disney, New Line, Spelling, New World, Cannon (including a draft of Spider-Man) and other production companies. Ethan launched his own independent film company, Wiseacre Films, in 2006. Wiley directed Blackwater Valley Exorcism (Lionsgate), wrote, directed and produced Brutal (Lionsgate), wrote and produced Black Ops (First Look Studios) and the action-thriller Bear (Epic Pictures). He also produced the Italian-funded The Butterfly Room in 2010 (Tombstone). He was Associate Producer for the thrillers Drifter (Epic Pictures) and A Dead Calling Lionsgate). In 2012, Wiley co-wrote and directed the family comedy Elf-Man (Anchor Bay). He co-wrote, directed and produced Journey to the Forbidden Valley (Lighthouse Pictures), a Chinese co-production filmed in mainland China. In 2014, Wiley was a Production Consultant for Universal's The Man WIth the Iron Fists 2, and in 2016 is the screenwriter for Dead Again in Tombstone (Universal). He is also the director for Dude Ranch Dada, a feature length documentary about his father, acclaimed modern artist, William T. Wiley.
