Eric S. Dow is an award winning filmmaker born in Toledo, Ohio. Eric attended the University of Toledo where he put his boundless energy into film making. Though he was still learning his craft, he began entering (and winning!) local film festivals.In the spring of 2003, Eric moved to Los Angeles and just three days after his arrival, he landed a job working on the "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" Special Extended Edition DVD! During his time in LA, Eric worked tirelessly and developed a broad network of relationships with everyone - from old Hollywood pros like the producers of "Batman: Dead End," "ArchAngel," "World's Finest," "Searchers 2.0," and "Hunter Prey," Simon Tams and Daren Hicks to up-and-coming directors like Robert Meyer Burnett, and Sandy Collora.In 2004, Eric shot and edited the music video "Get Your Dead On" for Scum of the Earth, which aired on MTV.In December 2005, Eric and his family moved to the NY area. Soon after, he hit the ground running, shooting and editing for the popular web sitcom, "The Burg." Since then he has not let up, Eric cut promos for Nickelodeon, Showtime, and Logo. He cut independent films such as "Autumn Meadow," (an official selection to TropFest at TriBecca) "Go Fish," (official selection to The Big Apple Film Fest) and "White Cure" for award winning director Fernando Scarpa.From 2007 to 2008, Eric held a staff position at SuperNova Productions, Inc. as a Senior Video Editor. There he edited corporate videos for clients such as Eli Lilly and Company, GlaxoSmithKline, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals. In the Summer of 2008 Eric again worked with Director Sandy Collora in assembling the rough cut of his Sci-fi feature film "Hunter Prey".In July 2009 Eric finished writing, producing, directing, and editing his feature length documentary entitled "Honor in the Valley of Tears" about MOH recipient David H. McNerney and his men from A-Company 1/8, 4th infantry division during the Vietnam War. In 2010 "Honor in the Valley of Tears" was selected to screen at five film festivals and went on to win two audience awards for best documentary at Dances with Films, and the Louisville International Festival of Film.In the winter of 2010 Eric cut two short films "Daughter of Lilith" and "Moving Forward". In the summer of 2010 Eric edited the 3D Sci-fi feature film "Shockwave, Darkside" for Director Jay Weisman. The film is set for a 2011 release.Most recently Eric has cut episodes of HGTV's "Tough as Nails", "MTV's "True Life" and "Made", TLC's "What the Sell?!", and Bravo's "Ready to Wear".
