Emil B. Garuba is a screenwriter, director and producer. His work spans feature films, short films, documentaries, and television shows including co-writing Lionheart, the first Netflix Original film from Nigeria; the 2016 AMVCA winning Feature Film Road to Yesterday; the 2015 AFRIFF Audience Choice Award-winning documentary Silent Tears; Tinsel - M-Net Africa's first Nigerian soap opera; the Africa Magic Original movies Moving On and Lovestruck, and much more. Emil is the Creative Director of Rated E, a content production company that develops original stories for the African Film and TV market. Rated E also offers training and consultation services for individuals and various high-profile media companies and clients including the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) and Nigeria's Integrity Film Awards (HOMEVIDA), an initiative of the PPDC where he served as script writer/editor on eleven award-winning short films.
