Ella Kenion has enjoyed a long and varied career as an actress working successfully for many years across both stage and screen.After completing a number of stage credits - most notably with The Royal Shakespeare Company being directed by Sir Peter Hall - Ella's work quickly shifted focus to television where she began making a name for herself in comedy with her fantastic characterisation and comic timing.Her first major comic role was alongside Martin Freeman in Hardware where she played the part of Julie. Following this she went on to appear in two series of both The Catherine Tate Show for BBC2 and Swinging on Ch5. Ella is perhaps best known for her role as Mrs Cakeworthy in The Green Green Grass, a part she played in 30 episodes across 4 series between 2005 and 2009.Ella played the lead role, Mia, in Gates for Sky Living and has played guest roles in Doctor Who, Cuckoo, Heading Out & Big Bad World. Ella has also featured in the hit US comedy Episodes in 2015 and in BBC1's New Tricks. Most recently, Ella can be seen on CBeebies as the regular lead, Captain Sinker on Swashbuckle.In March 2014, Ella starred in Emil & The Detectives at the National Theatre.She has also voiced various roles in the animated series Iconicles for CBBC and The Hive for CITV.
