He was born in Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada. He has two brothers, one of them is the actor Barry Pepper. The Pepper family set sail on a cruise around the South Pacific on a 50ft boat called 'The Moonlighter' when Doug's little brother, Barry was only five. The Peppers visited places like Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand. This cruise lasted three years and then they went back to Canada where they set up shop on a small island off the West Coast near Vancouver. Doug is an assistant for his younger brother Barry whilst he is filming. He's done this for films such as _61*(2001)_ and _Battlefield Earth(2000)_. Show less «
