Diana Cignoni is an award winning filmmaker whose debut narrative feature film " One Weekend" was released on demand by stadium Media after premiering at SaMo Indie, winning the Audience Choice Award. "One Weekend" has screened in dozens of other film festivals worldwide, including China Woman's Film Festival, SMC Film Club, Sir Charlie Darwin Movie Battle, Big Island Film Festival, Julien Dubuque International Film Festival. Cignoni's documentary film "Perfect" premiered at SaMo Indie and won Best Feature Length Film and the Audience Choice Award. Cignoni's previous short film "Palm Trees" won Best Narrative Short at SaMo Indie and screened in film festivals worldwide, including Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival, TIF Video Challenge,Ozark Shorts and UCFF Dublin Cignoni was selected for the Panavision New Filmmaker Program Grant. Cignoni has been featured in "Seeing is Believing: Women Direct" is a 5-hour serialized documentary about women directors by Cady McClain. Cignoni is also the founder of Ground Hero Film, a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of more sustainable films by and about women and the aim is to create films with a strong elusive presence exploring external trappings of existence and the transitory essence of the self. Cignoni is a member of Film Fatales and Gaba Film Initiative. Diana modeled in Europe and the USA for many years before she started directing. Diana has a unique educational background, having been taught by mentor Charlie Laughton (friend & mentor to Al Pacino) Penelope Allen, Mark Rydell and Martin Landau at The Actor's Studio. Born and raised in Germany Diana now resides and works in Los Angeles.
