Derek Reid Boone was born in Salt Lake City Utah in 1984 to Reid Boone and Debbie Sollars Lund. His father was a champion body builder winning Mr. Utah in 1977 and his mother who remarried to Allen Lund is the co owner of an art gallery along with Allen Lund in Park City Utah called Lund's Fine Art, A Family Tradition. Derek's passion for acting started in the year 2000 when his step dad Allen had an art studio above a loft that did acting classes. One night Allen came home and knowing how much Derek loved movies and asked if he would like to try a class. He of course said yes and was hooked from day one having his first scene in the class from the movie Looking for Mr Goodbar. Derek landed his first big role in the made for t.v. Disney movie Right on Track opposite Beverly Mitchell and Brie Larson. He wandered off his path and went through drug rehab for 14 months in 2007. He has been sober since and has resumed taking on his acting career recently landing roles as the lead in Pitching Love and Catching Faith released 2015, a supporting role in The Hollow Point released later 2015 and just completed his role for the new television series Blood & Oil.
