Deana Deatherage was born in Reno, Nevada, to Dorothy (Arthur), an X-Ray Technician, and Tony Deatherage, an industrialist. She is of German, English, French, Norwegian, and Irish descent. Deatherage began acting as a child as a member of the Booth Street Players and Scene Stealers in Reno, Nevada, where she made her stage debut in a production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's "Les Miserables". She appeared in many more productions through her early teens until, at the age of 18, she decided that she wanted to make acting her career. Since then, she has appeared in a number of independent shorts, commercials and features, gaining her SAG Eligibility in Eli Roth's "Lake Mead," After studying camera acting techniques at UNLV, she moved to LA in 2014.
