Director/Cinematographer David S. Barron has over twenty-seven years of experience in television and film productions. He created his first television show in 1990, titled The Naked Truth. A half-hour music magazine show on cable TV. He formed amfilms in Atlanta in 1994, and ever since the HD revolution took off, amfilms became amfilms HD in 2006, and amFILMS 4k, in 2016.He is partnered with Executive Producer, Angela Rich of Really Rich Productions. David is repped with Angela in Los Angeles CA. Together they are developing TV concepts, and pitching projects to television networks, and others in development.In 2001, David moved to Los Angeles to pursue greater creative endeavors in Hollywood, CA. During this time, the reality television genre was born on American TV, and David found his true calling: shooting unscripted, non-fiction television. David is a firm believer that his futuristic vision, combined with his ability to create, will be destined for success.In addition, David has shot over 800 days reality/docu-soap/challenge TV coverage for network and cable outlets like ABC, NBC, FOX, the WB, ESPN, TLC, LIFETIME, DISCOVERY SCIENCE HD, WETV, SPIKETV, MTV, NATGEO, VH1, and BRAVO. Such titles include REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA and DC: TI and TINY: The Family Hustle, BASKETBALL WIVES, CATCH A CONTRACTOR, DARE TO WEAR, BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES, TAMAR AND VINCE, PUNK'D 2.0, STARTING OVER, TRADING SPOUSES, THE SCHOLAR, ROCK OF LOVE, FLAVOR OF LOVE, etc. In 2005, STARTING OVER won a daytime Emmy, and had a successful three-year run on NBC. In addition to television series, David has shot four independent features: THE PINK CONSPIRACY, THE CURSED, BREAK and RIPPLE. Three were scheduled for theatrical release in 2009 and 2010. THE CURSED premiered on February 6, 2010 on the Syfy Channel. In 2014, David held two titles with the short feature film RIPPLE, where he was an executive producer, and director of photography. RIPPLE was selected for CANNES 2014 short film showcase in a non competition category and was awarded best short film at Pasadena Film Festival in 2015. In addition, he is an outstanding video editor with training for non-linear systems such as: Avid, Premiere Pro CC, and Final Cut Pro. He began his career at CNN in 1989, where he was trained in remote field production operations and post-production editing. For twelve years he covered US presidents, Super Bowls, Republican and Democratic Conventions, undercover police operations and other breaking news stories. David graduated with BA in Journalism, from Georgia State University in Atlanta, in 1989.In addition to his television credits, Barron has directed and produced over 40 cable music shows (The Naked Truth), 100+ music videos, a dozen commercials, and numerous corporate films. He is also an accomplished post production editor, with over 25 years experience in delivering projects on time and on budget. One particular project he shot in 2005, a documentary titled, My Child: Mothers of War, won Director's Choice in 20006, at San Jose's Cinequest Film Festival, a top ten US film festival.He is a trained and qualified cinematographer, with experience in shooting all film and video formats including 4k. David graduated with a Journalism degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, in 1989.
