Dave Buckman began performing improv and sketch comedy in American University in Washington DC with a group called Mission IMPROV-able. Cast-mates included Chris Wylde, Dan Schachner, Alex Albrecht, Karen Graci and others. Dave Buckman has directed, taught and performed at some of the world's leading improvisational comedy institutions. After several years studying and teaching improv in Chicago, Dave served as Artistic Director of Boom Chicago in Amsterdam for 2 years, where he was fortunate to work with and direct some of the funniest people working in television and web-based sketch comedy today: Seth Meyers, Jordan Peele, Kay Cannon, Jason Sudeikis, Nicole Parker, Ike Barinholtz and many others.He culminated his run in Europe with directing "Boom Chicago: RockStars" the second stage-swap with The Second City's Main Stage in its 50 year history,After Europe, Dave worked as a director and teacher at The Second City in Chicago and Cleveland, directing Cleveland's 2003 Main Stage revue, "Who's yer Baghdadi?". At the Second City he directed upcoming stars John Lutz, Mariebth Monroe, Rebecca Drysdale and others. In 2013, Dave spent several months performing on the nroeweigian Crusie Line with The Second CitySince 2005, Dave has been living in Austin, TX with wife and creative partner Rachel Madorsky, teaching and performing with their award-winning troupe The Frank Mills. Dave also performs with ColdTowne Theater, The Hideout Theatre, You're Not My Real Dad, and with Rachel and Dave. He is also a producer for The Out Of Bounds Comedy Festival, held every Labor Day in beautiful Austin, TX.He has also appeared in many Web Series (The Bank Manager, Hungry Todd Rungy) and Viral Commercials for Whole Foods, Bicycle Playing Cards, Grande Communications.
