Dale Peterson is an award-winning writer and director based in Southern California. After studying film at The American Film Institute, Peterson produced his first documentary film, "Bring Your Best," about homelessness in LA's Skid Row. Since then he has worked as director of photography, editor, producer, writer and director for documentaries, narrative films and music videos. Dale's love of music led him to produce and direct over 100 music videos for bands ranging from The Melvins to Alice in Chains. Over the past six years, Peterson has dedicated himself to writing and directing his own films. In 2009, his documentary I'm Gonna Do It Until The Day I Die won Best of Fest at the Arizona Underground Film Festival and Best Short at the Charlotte and Detroit Film Festivals. In 2011, Peterson's film Hard to Come By won seven awards at nine festivals, including Best Short at the Manhattan and Palm Beach International Film Festivals and Best Director honors at the Los Angeles ITN Film and New Media Festival. In 2015, Peterson completed his first feature, Hello, My Name is Frank..., an uplifting story about a recluse with severe Tourette Syndrome who is dragged on a road trip with three teenage girls. Frank has won seven awards in six festivals, including, Best Dramatic Feature and Best Actor at the 2015 Manhattan Film Festival, and Best Feature honors at the Tourette Film Festival. Peterson's sensitive and accurate portrayal of a man with Tourette earned the film an unprecedented endorsement by the Tourette Association of America, which commented, "This film portrays Frank as an authentic, relatable character and helps the audience see the human being behind the Tourette."
