Connie Jo Sechrist is an American actress, model, television host, producer, casting director and independent filmmaker with over 10 years of experience on stage and in front of the camera. She was born in 1984 in San Jose, CA and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Los Angeles. The youngest of two children of Cathy Thordsen and Curt Sechrist. She is of Scandinavian, Spanish and Greek descent. She graduated with honors at UC Santa Cruz's with BA in Theater Arts.Her first film experience was in 2004 as a Casting Director for "The Last"; an independent feature film about the last vampire on earth searching for eternal life and unlimited power. Her acting breakthrough came shortly after in 2005 as the lead in the independent short film "Dora"; the story about a prostitute trying to find life's meaning in a corrupt world. In 2007 she starred in "Life"; a short independent film about a young woman, who through a one night stand gives up her baby for a better future. This was then turned into a PSA for the Safe Haven Program, ran on the LA county website and was nominated for an Emmy in 2009.Following these works Connie landed roles in award winning independent films such as Bandito (2011), God Hates Zombies (2012), I's (2013), Anonymous (2014) and The Astronaut (2015) that was recently accepted into the 68th Festival de Cannes Short Film Corner.Aside from being a recurring host for Chabot TV Comcast KCTH 27 (a public access channel) covering different red carpet events and conventions such as Cinequest Film Festivals, Wizard World Comic Con, Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, Big Wow and many others; she is the host and executive producer of "Bay Area Independent Filmmakers", a talk show about filmmakers in the San Francisco Bay Area that started airing in 2015 on Chabot TV.In addition to her talents, Connie continues to establish herself in many collaborative independent film groups around the Bay Area and Los Angeles as a leader and mentor to other aspiring filmmakers.
