Cody Jarrett is an American feature filmmaker. Initially a musician living in Tampa Bay, Florida, his Hollywood career started when cast by director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger) and mega-producer Joel Silver (The Matrix) in 1990's Andrew Dice Clay film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (20th Century-Fox). Following the film's release, Jarrett played music in Los Angeles, where he eventually transitioned into filmmaking.Cody's first feature, Frog-g-g! (Japanese title: Frogman) was released in 2004 on Koch Entertainment. The film won Grand Jury Prize/Best Feature at the 2004 New York Film And Video Festival and was chosen a "Top 25 of 2005" DVD at Mr. Skin. However, the film is also known for the wild series of publicity stunts (crashing the Michael Jackson trial, an appearance on The Tonight Show) that accompanied its release. Following Frog-g-g!'s release, Jarrett directed television commercials, music videos, and a promotional documentary for female MMA star Miesha "Takedown" Tate.Cody's sophomore feature was the 1970s-style women-in-prison film Sugar Boxx, distributed by Showtime Networks, Lightning Entertainment and Entertainment One. The film features notable cameos by Foxy Brown writer/director Jack Hill, Russ Meyer star Tura Satana, as well as a moving performance by Hollywood legend Jacqueline Scott (Duel, Charley Varrick).Cody is in production on TURA!, the authorized documentary-biopic chronicling the life of actor/burlesque dancer Tura Satana, best known for her role in 1965's Russ Meyer classic Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. Completion is expected in 2017.
