Chris Proutt is an Austin-based actor and writer. Born and raised in Houston, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. First acting when he was only five years old, Chris became serious around the age of sixteen, studying and acting during a huge portion of his own free time. He first acted professionally in 2012, taking roles in various student films. Since then, he has appeared in two feature films, iGirlfriend and Prankster's Rhapsody, a number of short films, and three nationally televised commercials.Studying the Meisner acting theories under the tutelage of Laurel Vouvray of In the Moment Acting Studio, Chris is dedicated to his art, and he is always seeking out new ways to develop the fullness and reality of his performances. He is represented by the Tory Christopher Group.With plans to soon relocate to Los Angeles, Chris has plans to direct as well as act. He has directed two short films, A Casual Affair (2014) and Penultimate (2016).
