Carlos R. Bermudez was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and graduated from Las Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His career as a writer began in 1988 with the guidance and support of Family Ties' creator, Gary David Goldberg. In 1995 he received his first writing assignment on Valdez, an NBC pilot starring Cheech Marin and Bill Macy. From there he went on to create the first original Spanish language sitcom produced in Hollywood called Los Beltran. He was Executive Producer and head writer for a critically acclaimed series that in just two years earned a Golden Eagle Award, an Alma Award, an Imagen Award and two GLAAD Award nominations. For the past two years he has been consulting on Emmy Award-winning A Place of Our Own for PBS. In 2009, Carlos sold his first feature film script, The Miracle of Spanish Harlem, which was produced in NYC by Vista Clara Productions in January 2010. He has two additional feature films, (Ticket to Heaven and Hollywood Can Wait) in a production slate with D Street Films.
