Upon graduating from high school, he studied computer science at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Drawn to the entertainment industry, he began a career working in video games as a programmer, but his creative desires shifted his focus to acting. He studied acting at various schools in Vancouver, including Austin-Tuck Studios, SchoolCreative Institute of the Arts, and Jeb Beach & Associates.
