Candis Nergaard was born in Kent, England. She is known for 'Stuart - a Life Backwards', her film debut alongside Tom Hardy; 'Call the Midwife' alongside Miranda Hart and E4's 'Glue', appearing alongside Jonny Owen and working as Romany cultural advisor to the show. Candis started her acting career on stage appearing in productions such as Brecht's 'Fear and Misery in the Third Reich', and Marlowe's 'Doctor Faustus', making her acting diversity known by playing both 'Lechery' and 'The Good Angel'. Candis continues to work on stage in venues such as The Royal Court and regularly works in television, film and radio. She was nominated 'Best Actress' at the inaugural BBC Audio Drama Awards 2012 for 'Atchin Tan' (Stopping Place). Candis recently worked on Peaky Blinders series 3 as Romany language translator. Other film credits include 'The Firm', 'Affinity', 'Sket', 'Fear of Water' alongside Lily Loveless, psychological horror film 'Servants' Quarters' and 'Grantchester'.
