Camelia Somers, granddaughter of TV legend Suzanne Somers, made her debut in 2015 on the CBS daytime drama, The Bold and the Beautiful. Growing up in Brentwood, California in a Hollywood family, Camelia naturally gravitated to the performing arts at a young age. Her parents own an advertising agency and Camelia starred in her first commercial at age 2. Camelia's love for musical theater combined with a hearty chest belt landed her lead roles in more than a dozen musicals in children's theater. She danced on a competitive dance team for 7 years. Upon reaching high school, Camelia attended Harvard Westlake School where she dedicated herself to the rigorous academic curriculum while singing with the award winning Chamber Singers, cheerleading as captain of the squad, creating the HW Dance Team, and landing lead roles in musical theater such as Rizzo in Grease and Amber in Hairspray.Determined to keep one foot in the entertainment industry, Camelia chose to stay in Los Angeles for college and (2015) currently attends USC. She was awarded two prestigious academic awards, the four-year Presidential Scholarship and The Town & Gown Scholarship. Camelia is majoring in Chinese language and culture with a double minor in business and film. She hopes to combine her love for singing, dancing, and acting into the international market. Having worked in Beijing for Lionsgate's Chinese distributor of The Hunger Games, Camelia experienced first hand the impact of Hollywood on the Asian market and how being conversant in Mandarin creates a billion and a half opportunities. In the summer of 2015, The Bold and the Beautiful creator, Brad Bell, created the character of Charlotte specifically for Camelia. Like Camelia, Charlotte is a sophomore at USC and becomes an eager intern for the famed fashion house, Forrester Creations. Charlotte spent several episodes nervously running errands for her bosses and trying to impress them with her positive attitude and bright smile. In a surprise plot twist, Charlotte lands in bed with the CEO's son, Thomas Forrester, portrayed by Pierson Fode. Only Brad and the writers know what's next in store for Charlotte!Like her brainy bombshell grandmother, Suzanne Somers, Camelia has been called fresh, sexy, and smart - with a million dollar smile.
