On a family vacation, at 15 years old, Bryan told his mom that the empty star on Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk would one day bear his name. Following that dream has led him from Albuquerque, to Grants, back to Albuquerque and on to Los Angeles. Born in Albuquerque in 1986, Brenda, his mom, said, "Bryan was a go-getter from the moment he was born."Growing up in Grants he demonstrated at an early age his "eye for the artistic," according to his mom. Every Halloween was a major event for the entire family because each of Bryan's costumes had to be perfect. She made many of these and Bryan always won at every costume contest. By the age of four, he was enrolled in modeling classes. As a youngster, he would imitate actors he saw on television. His interest in drama continued on through his senior year at Grants High School. After his 2005 graduation, McCoy returned for a short time to Albuquerque for modeling classes but left in frustration. "He was a typical kid and got into the kinds of trouble most kids do while growing up. But he never gave up on his dreams." remarked Brenda.Brenda's sister lives in California and Bryan decided the place to become an actor or model was on the West Coast. Three years ago his first opportunity happened while living in Sacramento. His successful audition resulted in a movie role as a waiter.Bryan McCoy has attended acting classes and workshops in New York and California in the past 8 years. His schooling includes Stella Adler (2 year acting conservatory), and The New York Film Academy (1 Year Acting For Film). He is constantly working to improve his skills. To date his career includes roles in television series From Dusk Till Dawn, Iron Man, Sympathy For Delicious, and a number of commercials and video projects. At first family and friends strongly urged him toward higher education before attempting a career in entertainment. Because the two were very close, the passing of Brenda's father was especially hard on McCoy. His extended family continues to be supportive of Bryan's dreams and his grandparents have always encouraged him in his goals. McCoy feels that working in the acting field is the best education for him.His mother commented that whenever Bryan returns for a visit to Grants, he is a role model for all who know him. Brenda said he has promised her that one day he will walk her down the red carpet on Hollywood Boulevard when his name is put on that empty star.
