Briel was born in Maryland, with family in Virginia, WV, and Tennessee. She is a writer, photographer and theatre professional who played Berry in the feature length film Edge while she was still in high school. As a Maryland Distinguished Scholar she was awarded the state's drama scholarship. She received a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Maryland, College Park. Since graduation, she's been performing in and around DC at the Cumberland Theatre, Folger Theatre, Kennedy Center, Round House Theatre, Ford's Theatre, Virginia Shakespeare Company, and Olney Theatre Center, among others. She is a member of both the Actors' Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. She is not using her birth name due to the coincidence of another actress choosing the same name. Show less «
